This is a short film that introduces us to the world of French mountain guide Pierre Idris Mehdi, alias Pim. Although not as well known as his partner Juliette Willmann or Leo Slemmet, both of whom appear in the film and share their stories, Pim is nevertheless an outstanding steep slope skier. With its polished cinematography and discreet narration, this unpretentious little (called A guide’s book) film has the audacity not to try to reinvent anything, but just witness what Pim does and feels.
It simply shows us how one of the representatives of the Chamonix Mountain Guides Association, who actually comes from elsewhere, lives, works, and dreams. And so what if a few shots relying on sponsor material could have been avoided? Beautiful projects need to be financed.
