Ski test : Blizzard Zero G 105

Our test

Size tested : 180 cm

The Blizzard Zero G 105 is a ski with an imposing size: 105 mm. Its area of expertise is not in your classic ski touring. It’s more of a backcountry ski, where freeriding is top of the list.

This ski is irreproachable in deep powder. It is super fluid with consistent flex in chaotic terrain. You can ride without being thrown all over the place, it’s really a dream to ski. It’s also thanks to the easy pivoting; you don’t need excessive force, or muscle power to get it to do what you want. It’s not tiring.

On compact snow, the Blizzard Zero G 105 is still just as simple and handling curves is quite frankly easy to obtain with quality. Of course, it’s not a machine for cutting curves but the overall hold in the flow of the turn is sublime. You enjoy all the phases with pleasure: the entry, the turn, and the exit. The radius variation is less succinct, but you can ski it quickly. The edge hold is good in snow that doesn’t require exceptional grip. It isn’t an inert ski.

It is aimed more at freeriders who are discovering access to this skiing. Even if you buy very long skis, it doesn’t take effort. The front rocker is unpronounced, in fact, you don’t need it because the ski reacts well longitudinally. It absorbs well and isn’t tiring. This ski is for skiers who want an easy ride, without going at excessive speeds, because its calm character stands out. We really liked this Blizzard Zero G 105, even more than the Zero G 95 (we also tested the Blizzard Zero G 85, which is even more oriented to ski touring).
